WHAT IS RAW GOAT MILK FOR DOGS?

Raw goat milk for dogs is milk, straight from a goat, that is not pasteurized. During the pasteurization process, good gut bacteria (probiotics) are “cooked” out of the milk, which is why the raw form is so great!

Just like with any other raw food, raw milk is good for dogs, because it contains good bacteria that is not “cooked” out, allowing dogs to actually absorb the nutrients from the food they eat. Raw goat milk is filled with natural minerals like calcium, vitamins, enzymes and trace elements.

Like with any other raw product, there are plenty of scare tactics to keep consumers and dogs away from consuming raw goat milk. Sure, goat milk (or any raw food) can contain harmful pathogens, but if you are getting the milk (or raw food) from a high-quality source, the chances of this decrease significantly.

All the goats that we source milk from are humanely-raised on small farms and are fed the best food, meaning you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your pup’s safety!

BENEFITS OF RAW GOAT MILK FOR DOGS

Given the good bacteria and probiotics found in raw goat milk, the major benefits for dogs drinking this supplement include:

  1. Natural GI Support: Mother Nature’s most naturally complete food is full of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements to help support healthy digestion and a healthy immune system. If you have a sick or sensitive eater, goat milk will help soothe a pet’s digestive tract and allow sensitive eaters to process their food better.

  2. Enhanced Hydration: Goat milk, like bone broth, is great for hydration! Dogs love to slurp goat milk so you can add it to raw food or to increase hydration in dry food.

  3. Increased Appetite: if you have a picky eater, you can improve your eating routine by introducing goat milk. Dogs tend to love the taste — picky eater are picky no more!

  4. Help for Dogs with Allergies: You can use goat milk as part of a holistic approach to help control itching, shedding and flaky skin caused by allergies.

BONUS: Our goat milk also contains both turmeric and cinnamon, adding an additional boost of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties to the milk.

SERVING RAW GOAT MILK TO YOUR PUP (OR CAT!)

You can serve raw goat milk to your dog or cat by itself, over kibble (canned food for cats), or even as a healthy topper for raw food.

Serving suggestions:

  • Pets under 20 pounds: 2 oz of goat milk a day.

  • Pets between 20-40 pounds: 4 oz of goat milk a day.

  • Pets between 50-80 pounds: 8 oz of goat milk a day.

  • Pets 80+ pounds:10 oz a day.

Note: Goat milk is intended for intermittent and supplemental feeding for dogs and cats. This means that while goat milk itself is not a complete and balanced meal, it can be added daily to a complete and balanced meal for additional nutrients. Goat milk can be fed daily up to 20% of your pup or cat’s daily diet.

Our raw goat milk comes frozen, so be sure to thaw the milk in the fridge before serving. In the fridge, serve within 10 days after thawing to avoid spoiling.

Recipe Idea: Frozen Goat Milk

Like with bone broth, you can re-freeze goat milk to give your pup (or cat) a yummy treat during the summer heat. All you have to do is freeze the goat milk in an ice cube tray and serve it to your pet as a treat. It’s that simple and delicious!
